Job Summary
The job holder will develop and ensure adherence to internal controls, the promotion of good financial management practice, the development of new financial policies & procedures, and the maintenance of the organisation's internal control manual and structure in order to meet the company's mission of "building effective partnerships" and “Our ability to do so many ordinary things Exceptionally Well”.
Duties & Responsibilities
Reviews and prepares financial statements and accounting reports for the Cinemas; Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss Account –Daily Entries, Budgeting & Variance analysis – weekly (Tuesday)
Vetting and Develops guidelines of Financial document for the maintenance and reconciliation of financial data; maintains and reconciles the more difficult financial control records for expenditures, allotments, receipts, and encumbrances.
Designs, revises, and implements accounting systems and procedures in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and theories.
Conducts surveys to prepare recommendations for improvements, controls, new methods, and other changes to improve the efficiency of accounting systems.
Reviews budgets and prepares related budget documents as required by Management.
Designs cost classification processes; develops guidelines to assign cost classifications to expenditures.
Determines and analyses direct and indirect costs in order to determine the cost of sales and other operational cost.
Maintains records and prepares reports and correspondence related to the work and performs related work as assigned.
Determination and payment of Third party contract and other necessary payments.
Preparation of salary & wages (Pay as You Earn tax) for all Cinemas for vetting and approval
Preparation and remittance of staff pension, tax involving withholding tax (WHT), Value-added tax and other tax related matters.
Bank reconciliation statement and postings of transaction on the Vista systems; Sales (daily), Stock inventory item (daily) and Revenue – Daily
Accounting entries (cost of sales, third party revenue and cost) –daily
External relationship/meetings (banks, tax authorities – Federal & State Govt. etc)
Raising of purchase order for foreign suppliers
Computation of Film Hire for both calendar & cinema respectively. –Daily
Requirements
University Degree or higher Degree with a Professional Certificate, CCAB qualified accountant (ACCA or ACA)
Minimum of 3 years' experience in related field
Previous experience in a middle to senior finance/accounting role in a in a corporate environment including risk management
Maintains clear sense of goals and priorities, working in an innovative, responsive style that conveys support to internal customers both inside and outside of the Cinemas mission
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting theories, principles, methods, practices, and terminology in a multidisciplinary and multi-functional environment
Able to detect underlying ‘blocks’ and issues, to identify opportunities, and to think conceptually about solutions
Ability to present accounting data in a clear and understandable manner to both technical and non- technical users
Knowledge of the application of data processing and terminology as it applies to maintaining financial control and accounting records
Professional attitude to meeting deadlines, ensuring details are handled well, and always mindful of effective resource utilisation
Excellent working knowledge of accounting systems (Access Dimensions, SAGE, Microsoft etc.)
Knowledge of generally accepted auditing principles, procedures, practices and cost accounting and cost funding procedures

Job Summary
The job holder is responsible for ensuring the overall financial success of the cinema.
You will also be responsible for making sure health and safety regulations are adhered to by every member of staff, the day to day control of cinema activities and the driver of exceptional cinema experience for its esteemed customers.

Ensuring compliance to Head Office driven special promotions, displays and events and Report on buying trends, & customer needs
Updating the team on business performance, new initiatives and other pertinent issues
Ensuring a smooth ordering and delivery of concession from suppliers; and to different locations
Ensuring standards for quality &customer service are met; ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service.
Monitor along with the storekeeper, manages stock levels, ensuring slow moving, damaged stocks are flagged to the Head of Operations
Encourage the team to maximize their personal growth and development and guaranteeing team members meet and exceed guest-service standards
Performing daily opening and closing operational duties, with an eye for detail and Ensuring manning requirements are escalated to the HO for prompt action

Monitors uniform standards, operational practices, company policies, hygiene, quality standards and ensure they are adhered to
Ensure tardiness & absenteeism of all team members & outsourced security company if applicable are recorded and details as recorded are mailed to the Head of Operations

Salary sheet for the store, accounting for Overtime/ Deductions/ Resignations/ New appointments compiled and sent to Head of Operations every month on the 22nd of the month unless alternatively specified time to time by Line Manager
Involved with the planning, development and implementation of marketing and promotional campaigns
Works closely with all parts of the company to ensure commercial goals of the brand are met
Requirements
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a relevant field
Minimum of 3-5 years' experience working as a Supervisor, ideally within a similar cinema /entertainment industry
Strong retail marketing experience with excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
Good Leadership & Management Skills; Ability to plan strategically, delegate effectively and ensures cooperation and result delivery in team
Excellent communication, Interpersonal skills and Time management skills
Ability to build good relationships with management team, team members, clients and customers

Duties & Responsibilities
Work with CEO to develop and implement the cinema and amusement park business plan, involving the cinema team, taking into account local, regional and national factors
Maximise PROFIT within the cinema and amusement park
Communicate to cinema team in a positive, professional manner all company initiatives to ensure employee engagement and successful implementation
Pro-actively manage operational costs on a day to day basis through effective management of team and resource utilisation
Maximise attendance through effective local marketing activities
Continually monitor competitors and identify opportunities to maximise ATP (Average Ticket Price} performance
Produce quarterly customer survey to understand behaviour and trends of all guests and produce analysis to identify guests service success and needs to maximise cinemas performance and profit
On weekly basis produce and ensure film time schedules are in line with peak times and constantly review annual calendar to capitalise extra revenue for schools, universities and public holidays
Drive retail profitability by maximising RPH (Revenue Per Head), minimising shrinkage and wastage

Liaise with the CEO and Marketing Manager on all cinema activities in relationship with local media groups such radio stations, TV, Nollywood, film distributors, cinema competitors to allow speedy growth for the company
Produce and review SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) analysis to be competitive and capitalise market share % against other competitors
Maintain the safety of Guests and employees by complying with company standards, Health, Safety and Environment legislation and meeting all other statutory requirements

Requirements
Minimum of B.Sc Degree in related field, MBA is an added advantage
Minimum of 4 years' experience within the retail and entertainment industry of which 2years in the Cinema industry
Good experience in managing or providing strategic support to cross-sector partnerships or other strategic external relationships
Proven experience in operations management, project management, managing budgets and advanced analytical skills
Maintains clear sense of goals and priorities, working in an innovative, responsive style that conveys support to internal customers both inside and outside the group
