QUALIFICATIONS
(i) Professor
Candidates should possess a Ph.D degree (or a Fellowship of either the National or West African College) in the appropriate discipline applied for, with at least ten (10) years teaching and research experience in a University, with at least two (2) years as an Associate Professor. Candidates must possess scholarly publications in both local and international journals as proof of specialization in core areas of departmental fields of study. Candidates must also have sufficient administrative experience.
(ii) Associate Professor
As in (i) above, but with eight (8) years teaching and research experience in a University, with at least two (2) years as a Senior Lecturer. Candidate must also have sufficient administrative experience.
(iii) Senior Lecturer
As in (i) above, but with five (5) years teaching and research experience in a University, with at least two (2) years as a Lecturer I. Candidate must also have sufficient administrative experience.
(iv) Lecturer I
As in (i) above, but with three (3) years teaching and research experience in a University, with at least two (2) years as a Lecturer II.
(V) Lecturer II
As in (i) above, but with three (3) years teaching and research experience in a University, with at least two (2) years as an Assistant Lecturer.
Computer literacy and ability to teach using Multimedia technology is mandatory.
(vi) Assistant Lecturer
Candidates should possess a good Honours Degree,What is an assistant lecturer?Assistant lecturers share university or college lecturers' academic workload, specifically the provision of lectures to students. They prepare and teach classes, and meet with students privately regarding evaluation.
(vii) University Librarian
The candidate for the University Librarian position must possess good Honours Degree in any discipline, a Master's Degree in Library Information Studies from recognized universities and the possession of a PhD degree in similar areas
In addition to the academic professional qualifications, a candidate must possess evidence of membership of library professional bodies and registration with the Librarian Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN), which is the regulatory agency for the practice of librarianship in Nigeria
(viii) Bursar
The Bursar is a Principal Officer and the Chief Financial Officer of the University.
He/She must demonstrate innovative abilities and drive in improving the financial status of the University.
Candidate must possess a good honours Degree in Accounting or related discipline from a recognized institution plus NYSC Discharge Certificate or Evidence of Exemption.
Possession of a relevant higher degree will be an added advantage.
In addition, the candidate must be a duly registered Fellow of recognized professional Accounting bodies, e.g. ICAN, ANAN, ACCA or any other recognised and acceptable professional accounting qualification.
(ix) Registrar / Secretary to the Governing Council
The Registrar is a Principal Officer of the University.He/She is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-today administration of the University.Candidate must have good understanding of the vision and mission of the University
Candidates should have at least a Second Class (Lower Division) Honours Degree in a relevant field (e.g. Arts, Social Sciences, Administration etc) from a recognized University.Possession of higher degree(s) in relevant subject will be an advantage.Candidates must be computer literate and should be a member of at least one or more relevant Professional Bodies like NIM, IPMN, ANUPA, etc.
(x) Senior Laboratory Scientists / Technologists AIMLTS / ANIST / AIST / MLS or Full Technologist Diploma or City and Guilds in relevant fields or membership of recognized professional bodies i.e. NIST National Diploma of the Institute of Medical Laboratory with Six (6) years post qualification experience. OR
B.Sc / HND Degrees in Medical Laboratory Science with Certificate of Registration with the Medical Laboratory Council of Nigeria for Health Technologist with Two (2) years post-qualification experience
(xi) Graduate Assistants
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in the respective field with evidence or ability to pursue a register for an M.Sc program.
(xii) Chief Security Officer
Possess at least First Degree in any field of study, have attained a higher rank in the Nigerian Army or equivalent rank in any other security outfits have held commanding positions in the security outfits he/she served have been in senior military or paramilitary care for not less than fifteen (10) years or Candidate should possess a good B.Tech. / B.Sc Degree in any field from a recognized institution with a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division), plus Certificate in Security Training.
