Job Responsibilities
Inspecting construction sites regularly to identify and eliminate potential safety hazards.
Supervising and instructing the construction team as well as subcontractors.
Educating site workers on construction safety regulations and accident protocol.
Enforcing site safety rules to minimize work-related accidents and injuries.
Handling site accidents in accordance with established accident protocol.
Maintaining an accurate record of construction employee attendance.
Evaluating the performance of construction employees and instituting disciplinary measures as needed.
Analyzing blueprints to ensure that construction projects meet design, safety, and budget specifications.
Recommending changes to construction operations or procedures to increase efficiency.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Civil Engineering, or related field is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years proven experience working as a Site Supervisor or civil engineer
In depth knowledge of health and safety compliance and safety equipment
Sound knowledge of building codes and construction safety regulations.
Working knowledge of construction tools and equipment.
The ability to interpret blueprints.
Additional relevant certifications and trainings in civil engineering and HSE will be added advantage.

Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Provide general support to the health and safety manager
Assist the safety manager with health and safety monitoring activities
Assist the safety manager with the management of fire safety throughout the organization
Assist with the coordination and management of PPE, laboratory coats, environmental waste and environmental waste storage areas
Liaise closely with the facilities management team to manage issues relating to the facilities service provision and specifically waste disposals, buildings, fire safety equipment, electrical testing and safety audit non-compliances
Review and record checks on all fire exits, fire and fire equipment and fire signs
Educate workers and employees on safety aspects, assists in preparing safety manuals and guidelines
Inspect work area premises for hazardous elements
Strictly adhere to corporate safety guidelines and procedures
Promote the organization culture through standard policies
Requirements
First degree holder in Safety Management or related field
Minimum of four years cognate experience
Good understanding of legal health and safety guidelines
Detail oriented and high-level observation abilities
Problem solving skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Technical know-how
Certification and trainings in HSE are mandatory
