Job Description
The Fish Farm Supervisor Primary responsibility is to oversee the breeding and rearing of fish for commercial purposes.
In charge of daily management of the farm which include monitoring health, feeding, and breeding practices, ensuring optimal conditions, managing the farm staff, processing of fish, marketing and selling the produce.
Job Responsibilities
Plan, schedule, and oversee daily farm operations, including feeding, breeding, harvesting and processing.
Monitor and evaluate performance metrics, such as fish growth rates, feed conversion ratios, and disease incidence, to identify areas for improvement which is often done by automatic computer systems.
Monitoring the health of the fish and treating them when appropriate.
Ensuring the water supply is of a sufficient quality and it is changed as at when due.
Checking that the water quality and oxygen levels are right for the fish
Paying close attention to detail in order to avoid expensive fish losses and death.
Being aware of different water management techniques;
Keeping records of the numbers and size of fish
Ordering equipment, fish medication and feeds
Manage budgets, expenses, and inventory levels to optimize resource allocation and reduce waste
Recruit, train, and supervise farm staff, providing guidance and support to help them perform their duties effectively
Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities for growth, and adjust farm operations accordingly
Keeping financial records, planning budgets and carrying out a range of administrative duties
Develop and implement strategies to improve farm productivity, efficiency, and profitability
Ensure compliance with government regulations and industry standards regarding fish welfare, safety, and environmental sustainability
Performs other duties as may be assigned.
Requirements
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Aquaculture/ Agricultural related field or experience working for a fish farm.
Experience:
Minimum of three years experience in fish farming Operations.
Skills:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

In-depth knowledge of fish health, nutrition, and breeding
Minimum of 3 years of experience in fish farming operations
Ability to manage and train a team of farm workers
Experience in budget management and cost control
Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements
Ability to operate and maintain farm equipment and machinery Personal Attributes:

Remuneration
The start-up salary is N65,000 to N70,000 monthly and you can grow at your own space depending on performance.
