We are seeking highly qualified individuals to fill the position of a Central Sterile Department Technician (CSDT), which will be tasked with standardizing and consolidating the processes used to ensure that the highest levels of sterility and cleanliness are being met for our patients.
Utilizing the latest techniques and applying breakthrough technologies, the candidate will provide unparalleled support to the hospital’s mission.
Responsibilities
Assist with preventive maintenance on all instruments and patient care equipment following established policies and procedures.
Perform appropriate cleaning, and distribution of medical supplies, sterilized equipment, and surgical instruments.
Provide excellent customer service, interfacing well with internal customers and suppliers, all levels of staff, and management
Transport soiled instruments, case carts, basins, respiratory items, and patient equipment from all patient care areas to the decontamination area for reprocessing.
Adequate storage of equipment and supplies for surgical cases using the case cart system.
Keep up to date with the hospital's evolving policies and procedures
Inspect, package, and sterilize instruments/equipment according to the right procedures
Assemble and set up patient equipment such as IV pumps, vacuum regulators (wall suction), chest pumps, and hyper/hypothermia unit, test and make minor repairs and adjustments to equipment when necessary.
Ensure that all required instruments for procedures are sterile and ready for utilization.
Actively participate in performance improvement activities as a member of a team to achieve set goals.
Qualifications
A minimum of 1 year of Central Sterile Technician experience supporting complex surgical and clinical services in a hospital.
Previous surgical instrumentation/equipment decontamination and sterilization with familiarity with various instrument sterilization methods required.
Must possess excellent customer service skills, basic computer skills, initiative, and ability to take independent action, capable of establishing and maintaining outstanding working relation
Knowledge of basic and complex surgical instrumentation, disinfection principles, and sterilization techniques.
Proficient in using standard business software including email and common word processing applications.
Must be able to work with adaptability and flexibility, maintaining composure during stressful and/or adverse conditions.
