About Program/Project

HortiNigeria program, funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (EKN), is to contribute to the sustainable development of the Nigerian vegetable sector. It is a 4-year program being implemented by consortium partners and led by the International Fertilizer Development Centre (IFDC) in four states (Kaduna, Kano, Ogun and Oyo States)

HortiNigeria, which is seeking systemic change in the horticulture sector, will facilitate the development of a sustainable and gender- and youth-inclusive horticulture sector that contributes to nutritional security in Nigeria.

The program seeks to ensure inclusive access to the business opportunities the sector is increasingly offering, with specific emphasis on women and youths.

Our goal is aligned with the Dutch and Nigerian food security and private sector development objectives and fits within the framework of the larger transformation of food systems in Nigeria.

The program will enhance the social capital and contribute to the empowerment of smallholder farmers and value chain actors, with a particular focus on women and youths, and it will incentivize value chains and support the sustainable integration of entrepreneurial farmers into profitable markets.
