Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced external outsourced accountant to join our team on a contract basis weekly in Abuja.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in taxation, paye, and bookkeeping, with a proven track record of accuracy and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain accurate financial records, including bookkeeping, ledgers, and accounts payable/receivable.
Ensure compliance with local taxation laws and regulations, including timely and accurate filing of tax returns.
Process payee calculations and payments, staying updated on relevant changes in payee regulations.
Prepare financial statements and reports for review by management and external stakeholders.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate financial data and provide insights for decision-making.
Reconcile bank statements and financial discrepancies, investigating and resolving any issues.
Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes to support effective financial planning.
Stay informed about changes in financial regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and efficiency.
Provide financial advice and guidance to optimize financial performance and minimize tax liabilities.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information and uphold ethical standards.
Requirements:
Proven experience as an accountant with expertise in taxation, payee, and bookkeeping.
Strong knowledge of local financial regulations and tax laws in Abuja, Nigeria.
Proficient with accounting software and Microsoft Office suite.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field (Master's degree or professional certifications are a plus).
Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Previous experience in outsourced accounting or consulting is advantageous.
