Job Purpose
The Molecular and Cellular Biologist will tests on cell organization and function including mechanisms of gene expression, cellular bioinformatics, cell signaling, or cell differentiation.
Principal Accountabilities
Designs molecular or cellular laboratory tests, oversees their execution, and interprets results. Maintains accurate laboratory records and data.
Conducts research on cell organization and function, including mechanisms of gene expression, cellular bioinformatics, cell signaling, or cell differentiation.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for conducting tests.
Performs laboratory procedures following protocols including deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) sequencing, cloning and extraction, ribonucleic acid (RNA) purification, or gel electrophoresis.
Prepares reports, manuscripts, and presentations.
Monitors or operates specialized equipment such as gene sequencers and high-pressure liquid chromatographs, electrophoresis units, thermocyclers, fluorescence activated cell sorters.
Develops assays that monitor cell characteristics.
Coordinates molecular or cellular test activities with scientists specializing in other fields. Evaluates new technologies to enhance or complement current tests.
Develops guidelines for procedures such as the management of viruses.
Verifies that financial, physical, and human resources assigned to projects are used as planned.
Determine and recommend laboratory needs including lab equipment, supplies, and computer hardware and software systems.
Supervises technical staff, directs, coordinates, organizes, and prioritizes biological laboratory activities.
Carries out other laboratory activities as designated by head of Department.

Special Features:
Scientific Degree, preferably with some experience of Molecular Biology
Knowledge of microbial expression cell systems / mammalian cell line expression platforms and / or process development strategies
Ability to communicate the progress of projects, both verbally using presentations and with written reports
Experience in aseptic technique, microbial systems, microbial culturing, standard molecular biology techniques, cloning, sequence analysis.

Statement of Purpose
This is a summary of the overall role of the job from the organization’s point of view:
The collection officer attempts to collect payment on overdue bills by informing customers of their debt and their various options for repayment.
When agreeable payment terms are not reached, the collection officer takes further action in order to collect payment on debts.
Acts as a liaison between the sales team and the credit clients in collecting overdue bills in his day-to-day activity whilst still ensuring no severity in existing business relationship.
Reporting line shall be as follows:
Bold Line: Heads of Corporate & Medical Sales and performs other duties as assigned as part of a larger team.
Dotted line: The Financial Control, Business Partner (FCBP)
Detailed Tasks & Responsibilities
Negotiate Payment Schedules:
The collection officer speaks to customers to negotiate payment plans and payment schedules that suit their current financial situation while still satisfying the debt.
Advise Customers:
Advises customers on their various payment options. If no payment agreement can be reached, collection officer informs customers of further actions that may be taken to collect overdue debts.
Maintain Customer Files:
Keeps customer files updated, recording times and dates that contact has been made and noting information that customers have received about their debt.
Prepare Statements:
Prepares statements to be given to NHIS (In the case of HMO) or lawyers (In general cases) when customers fail to meet their payment agreements or when no payment agreement can be made.
Effective and Prompt Business Communication:
Writes letters/mails to customers to inform them of their debts which includes billing and credit limits respectively. When customers fail to meet their payment obligations, writes letters to NHIS to collect debt without the customer’s aid.
Field Work Outlay / Mapping:
Prepare work plan detailing the clients to be visited and the target collection amount by working critically and strictly with the overdue spreadsheet from the account department.
Overdue / Outstanding:
Works in synergy with the account department in ensuring that payments made by clients for specific months are cleared accordingly i.e. bill-wising.
Collection & Reconciliation of Payment Advices:
The collection officer shall aggressively visit every erring client by ensuring overdues are cleared
To confirm every payment from the clients with accounts department.
To use the payment advices issued by the HMOs to vet payments either by cheques/E-transfers and appeal when payment is found to be inconsistent with agreed tariff.
To vet payments either by Cheques/E-transfers made by hospitals and ensure it is accurate with the bill amount where payment is found to be inconsistent.
To give daily and weekly report of collections and activities in line with job roles.
To maintain integrity as an ambassador of the organization

Other Attributes:
Fluent in English, other local language would be an added advantage.
Should have a courteous, dynamic and adaptable personality.
Qualification of a B.Sc / BA / HND, or any other equivalent.
Additional education and qualification (e.g. MBA/HA/HM) or specialization will be an added advantage.
Have rich experience of the Healthcare & Diagnostics sales, primarily with HMO not less than a minimum experience of 5 to 10 years.
Previous experience of in the healthcare / hospitality industry will be an added advantage.
Advance skills of MS Office, Internet and computer.
Excellent presentation, communication and leadership skills
Excellent relationship and emotional intelligent management.

Growth path will be to position of responsibility and eventually to the Head, Corporate Sales.
