Responsibilities
Patient Care:
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients.
Administer medications, treatments, and other prescribed interventions.
Monitor and record patient vital signs and medical information.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education and support.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including nursing assessments, care plans, and progress notes.
Ensure compliance with documentation standards and regulatory requirements.
Patient Advocacy:
Advocate for patients' rights and preferences in the delivery of healthcare.
Address patient concerns and collaborate with the healthcare team to resolve issues.
Education and Training:
Provide patient and family education on healthcare conditions, treatments, and preventive care.
Participate in staff development and training programs.
Quality Improvement:
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in performance improvement activities.
Implement evidence-based practices to enhance patient outcomes.
Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with legal requirements.
Collaborate with the pharmacy team to manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure adequate stock levels.
Adhere to all regulatory requirements and pharmacy policies and procedures.
Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance the overall efficiency of pharmacy operations.
Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
Registered Nurse with a valid nursing license in Abuja.
Minimum of 2 years in clinical nursing experience, with a focus on injections administration, and health screening.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with pharmacy management software and electronic health records.
Previous experience in a retail pharmacy or healthcare setting is an added advantage.
