Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated ICT Manager to oversee and manage all information and communication technology aspects within our school.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the optimal functioning of hardware devices, managing computer hardware and software installations, ensuring network and computer security, and providing support to teachers, school management, and office staff for any ICT-related issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Hardware Maintenance and Repair:
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair hardware devices including computers, printers, scanners, and other computer components.
Ensure timely maintenance and servicing of ICT equipment to minimize downtime.
Installation and Management:
Oversee the installation and management of computer hardware and software throughout the school.
Implement and maintain necessary updates and patches.
Network and Security:
Manage network security, protecting against phishing, viruses, spyware, malware, and other potential threats.
Implement and enforce security protocols to safeguard sensitive information.
User Support:
Assist teachers, school management, and office staff with any ICT-related problems they encounter.
Provide training and support to enhance users' proficiency in utilizing technology.
Internet Connection and Service:
Take responsibility for maintaining a reliable internet connection and service within the school.
Server Maintenance:
Manage and maintain the school's servers, demonstrating proficiency in active directory, DHCP, DNS, and file sharing.
Ensure regular backups and security measures are in place.
Software Expertise:
Demonstrate proficiency in school management software and possess a sound knowledge of database management.
Additional Responsibilities:
Familiarity with timetabling software and curriculum management is advantageous.
Oversee the purchasing of materials and equipment required for the operation and management of the ICT suite.
Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the ICT suite and associated office space.
Handle maintenance and repair of network points throughout the school.
Capture photographs and videos during school functions and other designated times.
Manage and regularly update the school's website and social media handles.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational setting.
Strong knowledge of hardware and software systems, network security, and database management.
Experience with school management software and familiarity with timetabling software is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure.
