About the Role
This is a full-time on-site role in Fagge, Kano as a Logistics Manager, where you will work to ensure that all logistics operations are executed efficiently.
This role is responsible for planning and directing the logistics activities regarding the movement of goods and items across various locations.
You will have the overall responsibility for managing logistics to meet customer requirements and actively ensuring management of departmental personnel and the organization’s fleet.
This role will ensure that these functions are carried out effectively and efficiently, in accordance with company’s standard operating procedure.
Job Description
Direct and coordinate all logistics activities as it pertain to the movement of goods and items across various locations
Oversee the daily workflow, schedules, and assignments of members of the Logistics team
Conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
Oversee the coordination and routing of company vehicles for deliveries
Direct dispatching, routing activities and tracking of vehicles
Ensures that customer difficulties or problems are investigated and resolved
Coordinates maintenance of the company vehicles.
Implements safety audits and trains staff members on safety issues
Maintains knowledge of best practices including the most efficient and cost-effective methods.
Develop and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives for transportation operations in collaboration with other managers
Ensures compliance with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules, and government regulations
Reviews and analyses expenditures and other financial information; uses the results to develop and implement plans, policies, and budgets
Determine the exact fuel gauge for every route using the standard practice
Coordination and arranging of reverse logistics business on the return journies to minimize cost of delivery
Direct reporting to the Divisional Head on matters arising, with adequate sensitization on the magnitude of the matter requiring attention
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
B.Sc. or HND in Business Administration, Transport Management or other related fields
4-5 years of relevant experience in logistics and transport operations, with
A minimum of 3 years work experience in a managerial capacity
A professional certification in Transportation & Logistics is an added advantage
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office as well as any related Transportation/Logistics software
Sound knowledge of vehicles functionality and maintenance
