Department: Services - Logistics

Job Objective


The Logistics Manager will oversee, material handling, transportation, delivery and return collections.

The Logistics Manager will prepare worker schedules and ensure distribution, delivery and last-mile workers follow safety rules.


Key Responsibilities
Logistics Management:


Managing day to day operations

Challenging established processes and implementing new processes to adapt to the fast growth of Jumia Services clients

Finding creative and innovative ways to offer a better customer experience

Fully understanding our information system and working with our IT team to roll out new developments

Working closely with the Jumia Services central team to share and implement global best practices

Managing relationships with clients and partners (Third-party logistics partners)

Responsible for the logistics P&L

Responsible to meet the logistics targets and KPIs including quality of customer experience.


Required Qualifications & Experience


A completed Master's Degree from an accredited university;

Degree in Engineering,

Operations, Supply Chain or MBA preferred

Proficient in Microsoft Office – Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Email, Internet etc.

Proficient in Google Office Suite – Google Drive, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Gmail, etc.

10 years with 2+ years direct management experience, preferably in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment with a strong focus on logistics or alternatively consulting / banking.

Department: Operations

Job Objective


As Project Manager, you will lead numerous improvement projects aimed at streamlining activities while driving up performance and quality.

Taking part in regional and global initiatives, you will tackle complex problems that affect customers and work to resolve them with innovative solutions.


Key Responsibilities


Lead the design and implementation of initiatives that eliminate waste, reduce lead time and improve business performance while establishing a sustainable model for continuous improvement

Work with Country Manager to identify performance gaps, prioritize and manage improvement roadmap

Through robust data analysis of key operational and cost metrics, identify opportunities for innovation and work with all Ops teams to quantify the value of the opportunity i.e. Optimizing warehouse and Jumia Express operations

Improve main KPIs: Vendor Net Promoter Score, Vendor satisfaction score, Seller Ops Queue Management, SLA DS collection cost-effective pricing efficiency, lost in seller ops

Support delivery of operational consistency across the supply chain through both process and technology

Participate in implementing lean management practice across Jumia Services globally

Work with business and broader Ops team to ensure initiatives are appropriately prioritized and supported

Participate in technology development by giving constant feedback on requirements for Warehouse & Logistics operations.

Monitoring of 5S practices and Material handling.


Required Qualifications & Skills


Master's Degree / MBA required in an applicable discipline (Mathematics, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, etc.)

8+ years of progressive related work with demonstrated experience in Continuous Improvement and/or Operational Excellence in a large fulfilment or distribution environment

At least 3 years of experience using data visualization tools like Qlik, Tableau, or Microsoft Power BI

At least 3 years of experience in Project management and time management skills – experience with end-to-end project management processes

Excellent analytical capabilities, ability to produce, interpret and draw conclusions from data.

Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen methodologies would be highly advantageous.

Knowledge of distribution centre/fulfilment operations and processes

Demonstrated knowledge of key business financial metrics.

Job Objective


As Brand Manager, you will have the end-to-end responsibility of the customer experience and growth of the category that has been assigned to you.

Your role is to bring in the relevant assortment, design targeted promotions, and manage partners including vendors and brands.

Constant interface with the commercial planning, Vendor success & Marketing team.


Key Responsibilities


Ensure continuous growth of our existing business by owning pricing and promotions strategy, working with marketing teams to improve product content and visibility; and managing stock availability by coordinating teams across the business to bring the product to the customer.

Complete Sales performance of the 3c’s Categories, vendors, merchant’s management, and monitoring of sales strategies with a view to increasing the Business unit’s Net Margin Position (NMP) & Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV).

Customer acquisition thru Value Offering, Sales Campaign Management, etc.

Create and present strategic insights for the Business unit to gain alignment of major initiatives at multiple levels of the organization.

Analyze & Present post–promotion analysis for retail and Marketplace, quantifying impact to brand and category.

Define and optimize curation/assortment selection strategy for your category ensuring the relevance of selection/styling to optimize revenues and sales velocity.

Support product and content creation process to increase assortment live.

Plan and maintain constant stock availability.

Trend Spotting: Should be able to identify broader trends and fill category gaps.

Build weekly marketing plan, contribute determining which products/subcategories will be promoted on the website and through all marketing channels (Newsletters, Facebook, etc.).

Develop strong analytics to evaluate daily/weekly/monthly performance and optimize further marketing, pricing, and product selection.

Develop and manage subcategories under Jumia. Maintain the P&L and develop annual and quarterly category strategic plans by conducting financial analysis of the business.

Manage the entire physical product lifecycle, from strategic activities to tactical implementation, including product portfolio idea generation.

Work closely with the vendor management team to identify vendors and negotiate contracts to ensure the best quality and costs.

Partner with Jumia Services to improve product availability, reduce costs, and minimize our working capital investment. Work together with system, teams to identify main opportunities for process automation and efficiency gains.

Influence a large number of stakeholders across the business; work closely with the team members and other business groups to deliver results and be comfortable in presenting projects and results to senior leadership on a regular basis.


Required Qualifications & Skills


Bachelor's Degree in any field from a recognised and accredited University

8+ years experience in managing key accounts in the phones and computing category.

Build’s and Presents Joint Business Plans and aligns on a refined version with accounts being managed.

Understands implications of performance analysis and performance steering levers (e.g., low CR% leads to either better content or better price)

Has strong clarity on the value proposition of Marketing Value-Added services

Exceptional negotiation. listening and communication skills are required. Manages tri-partite conversations between Jumia, brands and their distributors.

Advanced Excel. Knowledge of other tools i.e., PBI etc is an advantage.

Exceptional team working skills and people management.

Has already a good network/ portfolio of sellers relevant to the category to onboard on Jumia - Added advantage

Exceptional analytical skills.
