MSH is currently a sub recipient to Catholic Relief Services for the implementation of the Global Fund Malaria Grant (2021 to 2023) in Nigeria, which aims to implement and support malaria control activities in 11 states, including the implementation of Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention (SMC) campaign activities in 2 States (Katsina and Taraba). Due to the high volume of stakeholders/participants involved in the campaign, Operations ad-hoc personnel are needed to support Operations activities during the campaign. Previous experience in a similar position is an added advantage.

The Operations support staff will support the operations unit in ensuring the smooth operations of logistics by providing clerical support.


Responsibilities


Support to Arrange hotel for participants, consultants who are participating in the SMC activity in Katsina and Taraba States.

Support the operations unit to engage vendors for the SMC activity in Taraba and Katsina States

Support the Operations unit in maintaining the inventory records for items meant for the SMC activity.

Support in scanning, filling of documents and raising reports about the SMC activities.

Support in providing communication gateways for the SMC activities.

Support the Operations unit in organizing for the dispatch of goods and equipment whenever required.

Arrange spaces for participants making sure they have as much conducive environment as possible in the cause of the SMC activity.

Inventory and asset management

Coordinate the approved Activity Profiles making sure that materials, equipment, etc required for the activity are organized and ready for the activity

Support to coordinate procurement and engagement of vendors for goods and services.


Qualifications


Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent relevant experience

Verbal and written language skills in English required

Ability to work independently and take initiative

Ability to learn complex program procedures

Good typing skills. Good memo composition and editing skills. Good computer skills with sound knowledge of commonly used application software

We are seeking to engage a Principal Investigator to lead implementation of the 2021 TES in Kaduna, Imo, Kwara and Lagos states with direction from the TES Coordinator and reporting directly to the TES Coordinator.

S/he will assist with finalizing TES preparations, leading trainings, providing oversight of study site, and ensuring the overall quality of TES conduct and outputs.

Work closely with the QA Lab Scientists to ensure high quality issues for the TES

We are seeking to engage an Quality Assurance Laboratory Scientist to lead implementation of the 2021 TES working closely with the TES Core Team and reporting to the Core Team through TES Technical Consultant.

S/he will assist in assuring quality of TES preparations, trainings, study sites, and ensuring the overall quality of TES conduct and outputs related to laboratory components based on WHO recommended Lot Quality Assurance (LQA) approach to external quality assurance.

S/he shall work out of the designated National Reference Laboratory (in collaboration with Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) Nigeria team) based in Abuja. There will be four Quality Assurance Laboratory Scientist for the 2021 TES.

Job Description


In collaboration with the TES Coordinator, assure quality of TES protocol related to laboratory and all related standard operating procedures (SOPs) and job aids

Collaborate with the TES Core Team to plan, and monitor QA/QC interventions related to the laboratory during the study at site level.

Lead the development of the TES laboratory procedures quality assurance and quality improvement plan

Assure adherence to study laboratory protocol at all TES sites

Assure good laboratory practice (GLP) including sample collection, preparation of slides and analysis.

In collaboration with the TES data manager assure the quality of laboratory data from the study

Provide regular updates on TES implementation related to the laboratory components to the TES core team

Conduct periodic supervisory visits and serve as reference microscopist and conduct blinded cross-checking or validation of slides at study site

Ensure the appropriate collection of blood on filter paper suitable for parasite DNA extraction according to the protocol l

Communicate concerns or issues about the TES immediately to the TES Coordinator

Provide regular (weekly)/and as may be determined quality assurance reports for key TES outputs


Required Qualifications

The project is supporting the Government of Nigeria through its agencies at the federal, state, LGA and community levels to reduce under-five and maternal mortality by delivering quality services for management of malaria, its complications, and prevention.

PMI-S project focuses on strengthening the capacity of the National Malaria Elimination Program (NMEP) and State Malaria Elimination Programs (SMEPs) for the implementation of the National Malaria Strategic Plan 2014-2020.

The National Malaria Elimination Programme (NMEP), along with a TES core team, plans to initiate activities for the 2021 TES in July 2021. We are seeking to engage a Technical Coordinator to lead implementation of the 2021 TES with direction from the TES Core Team and reporting directly to Core Team. S/he will assist with finalizing TES preparations, leading trainings, providing oversight of study sites, and ensuring the overall quality of TES conduct and outputs.

Specific Responsibilities

MD (or equivalent) with a minimum of at least 5 years’ experience in clinical research and /or as a Clinical Monitor.Thorough knowledge of clinical research process.
