Purpose and Objective of the Baseline Study
The purpose of the baseline study is to obtain detailed information about current status of the population from which the project beneficiaries of the CLEAR project would be drawn. This will include their social and economic situation and other information necessary to guide the determination of realistic targets for and serve as a reference for measuring the progress of achievement of the goal and objective of the project including the input, output and outcome indicators.
The goal of CLEAR is to Significantly reduce the prevalence of child labor practices among cocoa farmers in the selected communities of Ondo State. The intervention will be implemented in 5 communities in each local government. There will be 800 direct beneficiaries made up of 500 children, 100 youths and 300 adults. Participation will include junior secondary schools in the selected communities.
The specific objective of the baseline study includes:
To establish starting situations of the indicators for CLEAR Project Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning.
To generate data that would be useful towards measuring the impact of the project.
To identify potential gaps in the current situation in the proposed intervention areas.
To have better understanding of the needs of the target population
Generate data useful for community profiling to identify communities, households and children at risk or in child labor.
